Notes

  1. I have tried to account different English pronunciations. Especially for the Rhotic Series, trust your intuition, and trust the name of the sound more than the IPA transliteration. Depending on your accent you might write "year" as ᛡᛁᚷᚱ, "poor" as ᛈᚩᚱ, and "Autumn" as ᚪᛏᛗ, and that is perfectly fine. If you speak a non-rhotic version of English, then you should most likely ignore the Rhotic Series for the most part: ᛋᛁᚷᛟ, ᛁᚷᛟ, ᛖᛟ, ᛈᚪᚢ, ᛏᚪᚢ, ᛟᚱᚦ, ᚫᚱᚩ, ᚪᛏ, ᚪᚢ. If you speak non-rhotic English, please help me make this part better.
  2. When one of the syllabic consonants (, , , , ) follows an , the may be omitted if it would not change the pronunciation or cause duplicate adjacent runes.
  3. The alternate runes for the Fricatives can be used to disambiguate their alternate sounds. This includes the voiced post-alveolar fricative, so "visions" could be ᚠ̣ᛁᚴᚳᚾᚴ.
  4. Always use for combinations with other runes. should be used when it is not combined with another rune.
  5. (velar fricative) does not appear in its name because this sound is most rare in English. It is useful for loan words and certain dialects though.
